Before She’s Gone…

A documentary love story about a sixty-seven year marriage, a husband’s undying devotion as the primary caregiver, and spoons. After his wife, Shirley, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s fifteen years ago, Stan Fryer shares his thoughts and experiences on supporting the love of of his life.
Featuring original music written for the film and using 8 mm footage from 1955 to GoPro video from 2015, ‘Before She’s Gone…’ is a tender tale for the ages and a celebration of hope amidst a fading light.
Arun Fryer
Arun Fryer is a Vancouver-based filmmaker & media creator, whose films have played in festivals around the world. Arun received 2013 Vancouver Mayor’s Arts Award for Emerging Artist in Film & Media and sat on the Board of Directors for DOC BC from 2013-2015.
His recent productions include Cadence, a feature psychological thriller which premiered at the 2016 Vancouver International Film Festival, winning the MustSeeBC Award, and Before She’s Gone..., a documentary short he produced & directed, recipient of the National Film Board of Canada Filmmaker Assistance Program. He is currently producing a short titled Garbageman.
Along with yogi Niki Inglis, Arun is also co-owner of Java Yoga, a series and morning routine combining coffee and yoga
