Rose is a short documentary that portrays a daughter’s despair as she comes to terms with having to put her own mother into a nursing home due to the onset of Alzheimer’s. The documentary shows the deep conflict and worry in the mind of a daughter that wishes she could still care for her mother on her own.

Peter O’ Brien is a 25 year old documentary filmmaker from Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow. He graduated from The National Film School at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design & Technology in September 2011. Here he specialized in Sound Design and Documentary Direction. Rose, his graduate film, has gone on to great success, winning the Royal Television Society Award Ireland in the Student Undergraduate Factual Category and The Student Next Generation Prize at the Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival in 2011.
